Description

Lee Wei Song School of Music started the Trinity Music Competition in the year 2004.

The name “Trinity” was chosen because the school aims to bring students from the three faculties, namely Unplugged Vocal, Composing and Lyrics Writing together, to interact and get to know each other whether they are current student or alumni.

The Contestants will gain the rewarding experience of collaborating with contestants from other categories, which is vital to their progression in this competition. This competition will also cultivate them into professional musicians or performers by applying what they have learned in classrooms onto stage. It will also help to identify talented individuals who have the potential to become artistes and spot those possessing the skills to further develop in the music industry.

I am sure many of you would have heard of Lee Wei Song, our very own Singapore-made- famous song writer. He has trained & groomed many budding singers including Stephanie Sun.

My friend, Yvonne is currently helping the school to organize the event for a good course. And it's totally a voluntary contribution by her. The profits from the event will be donated to charity homes: Chen Su Lan Children Home and Singapore Cheshire Home.

So do give Yvonne your support to make this event a meaningful & successful one!

Please help to pass the information around.

Worksite Garden

Hey, know what? I discovered a little slope near a housing work site has been turned into a plot of useful land. It has become the vegetable garden of the work site workers!

I passed by that way last week & saw one of their chilli plants dotted with many red chilli. Besides many chilli plants; there are two papaya trees, one pandan bush & also a flowering brinjal tree. It was a lovely sight.

This evening I went there to snap some pictures but found the red chilli on the plant missing. The worker who was watering the plants told me they were being picked by some of the workers.

I wish I will get to see the brinjals hanging on the trees when I pass by again the next time.

Green Culture Singapore

I am glad to have joined the Green Culture Singapore as their member. As a gardening enthusiast, this is definitely one place I must not miss.

The many interesting topics & pictures so freely contributed by their members are indeed very overwhelming for a newbie like me. I should have known their community earlier, from the time I first set up my garden experimenting growing tomato & capsicum plants with my children.

Well, will follow them closely to share & learn from my newfound friends.

Cell Group Picnic

Thanks to Elza for co-ordinating our cell group (cg) picnic at the West Coast Park last friday (5.9.08).
Despite the busy schedules of many working adults, our cg managed to squeeze in a day to meet outside during the children's recent school holidays.
In fact, this has been one of our favourite activities - to gather all our members outside & especially also an opportunity to bring our children out together since they were younger. Though they are now all grown up, this cg 'affair' still remain. It is indeed a joy to see the bonding of our children growing stronger.

The Secret Life of Mona Lisa

"Mona Lisa is a portrait of a specific person, with a relatively square face."

How many time has anyone ever wonder who was this lady made so famous by Leonardo da Vinci? Whoever Mona Lisa may have been, she has become the object of much affection and obsession over the centuries, perhaps because of Leonardo's own legendary reputation.

Mona Lisa painting vanishing act in 1911 is not the first mystery associated with the enigmatic lady. Painted by Leonardo da Vinci in the early 1500s, little else is known about her. Even her true identity is uncertain. The painting was eventually found in 1913, very near the spot where she had been conceived four centuries earlier... having been hidden for two years in the humble apartments of her kidnapper only blocks from the Louvre. She rests again now in the Louvre museum – under considerably more rigorous security – where millions visit her each year.

Now, after so many centuries, mystery of her once again stirring up & taking many by surprise!

...Ready? Take a deep breath. Some people think Mona Lisa is ... a man. Now, take another deep breath. Some people even think that Mona Lisa is Leonardo da Vinci in disguise. Relax. These are just some of the most absurd speculations found on the internet about the lady with the most famous mysterious smile. Why not? Even my son said Leonardo da Vinci could have dressed himself up as a woman & sat in front of the mirror painting himself! But really who exactly was Mona Lisa, and who was she to the painter.
