Millvina Dean - Last Survivor of Titanic

Millvina Dean has been the last living survivor of the Titanic since last year when Barbara Dainton, from Cornwall, died aged 96.

"Miss Dean, 96, is hoping to raise some £3,000 from the sale after finding herself unable to cope with the cost of her nursing home in Ashurst, Hants." reported in the TimesOnline. I feel sorry for her. She has been such a legend for nearly a century & now in her last few years of life, living in the home with no loved ones to send her off when she has to go.

Of course, being the last living survivor of that famous sunken ship & receving so much fanfare out of it is no fault of her. However, like any fairy tales or heroic stories , I would like to see a happy ending chapter in her story too.

It would be very heart-warming if the film maker of Titanic or organisations which have profited from the tragic accident can sponsor Miss Dean. Needless to say, having to be living so long with bad memories of losing her dear father in such a tragic accident is surely very hard on her. Let her live her last few years well & that she can bring along with her sweet memories of humanity instead of having to remember she has to sell her mementoes to pay for her last few years of care.

Market Rebound

A latest rescue plan that would inject billions of dollars into troubled banks in an attempt to restore confidence in the financial system has indeed let the Asian markets rebounded today.

I am sure all those who were holding short positions would have closed them off & taken profit by now after accumulating their profit for a period of time since the market turmoil started some months ago; and also be laughing their ways to the banks. Bargain hunters with watchful eyes, I guess, must be doing their calculations to enter the market anytime now; if not this morning.

Trinity Competition 2008 on this Saturday

After all the effort & excitement, the day of Grand Final to be held at The Republic Polytechnic (The Republic Cultural Centre, Theatre) is finally here - 11 October 2008 (Sat).

Yvonne said the response has been very good so far. Thanks to those friends who have directly or indirectly lend their supports & helped her publicized the much awaited event.

Perhaps, for those who like to sing or love music; or would just like to expose their children to this form of art or entertainment; or notice their friends or loved ones having the potential to make a name for themselves in the chinese music industry can consider networking with Yvonne who is familiar with people from the Lee Wei Song School of Music.

Well, you never know, one day Yvonne will also be organizing a singing competition, with you or your loved ones taking part in it. So don't forget to make a date with Yvonne, ok.

Bear Market

Has been very busy lately doing my marketing. Hahaha, not going to the supermarket or wet market - just spending more time monitoring the 'volatile' bearish stock market.

Supposedly, to be easy to go shorting the market since most stocks have been going downtrend due to the US sub-prime issues & the prevailing global weak economic outlook amidst the uncertainties that loom the various markets even after the US$700 billion bailout plan has been approved & rolled out by the US. However, it isn't that easy to trade as the market is still very volatile because there are also plenty of bargain hunters doing their shoppings picking up cheap deals for long term investments. With all the depressing news, people do not have confidence that the bailout plan will actually work or relieve the financial crisis in the long run.

Well, still have to be extremely cautious in my stock selections & strategy decision in order not to get my $$$ swallowed up. Anyway, whether the market goes up, down or sideway; there will always still be ways to enter the market. So sometimes not just need to be cautious but also must be more patient.
